Life insurance: Negative net inflows in April 2020

Net inflows for April 2020 were - 2.1 billion euros.
From the start of the year, insurance companies collected 38.7 billion Euros of premiums (compared to 50.3 billion Euros over the same period in 2019).
Payments to unit-linked products accounted for 13.7 billion Euros from the start of the year, i.e. 35 % of premiums.
Over the same period insurance companies paid out benefits of 40.6 billion Euros (39.4 billion euros in 2019).
Net inflows of the year were -1.9 billion Euros (compared to 10.9 billion euros over the same period in 2019).
At end April 2020 in-force life insurance business (mathematical provisions + profit sharing provisions) stood at 1 748 billion Euros.
